“The Pilgrims Gospel” choir was set up in 1997 by its director Gianni Mini. Today, it gathers 60 singers and 5 musicians coming from various formative experiences (classic, jazz, pop music). The repertoire takes inspiration from spiritual and gospel music, mixed with some pop songs.
The choir took part to several national and international happenings as “Gospel night” in Bologna, “Torrita Blues” in Torrita di Siena, “Narni Jazz Festival”, the “Festival Gospel” in Lucca, the “Festival Gospel” in Legnago (Vr), the “Festival nazionale del cinema, teatro e televisione” in Villa Basilica, the “Festival Gospel” in Varese, the “Radioliberafestival” in Santa Croce sull’Arno, the “Chianti Festival” in Castelnuovo Berardenga.
The choir took part to benefit initiatives as Telethon and they worked with the public government, taking part to cultural programs and to charitable initiatives all around the Country.
“The Pilgrims Gospel” also appeared in several radio and tv programmes as “Alle Falde del Kilimangiaro” on Rai3, and in other reports dedicated to the Italian Gospel reality, which gave them a glimpse of national celebrity.
They took part to the prestigious T.I.M. (Torneo Internazionale di Musica), reaching the semifinal against high levelled choirs coming from all around Europe.
The choir collaborated with big voices of the International music, for example with the American artist Cheryl Porter in various occasions, and in concerts and camps realized with “The Swingle Singers”.
In the last years, “The Pilgrims Gospel” choir ruled several concerts in various Italian theatres, with a big audience and an unanimous consent from the critics and the press.
They realised a cd with some of their successful songs.
